The story of the old

History

Long Quân Chúa Mach

Culturally, Vietnamese people calls themselves “Con Rong Chau Tien”, which are sons and daughters with dragon and fairy origins.

“Long Quan Chua Mach” is the god that based from that folk tale, with the mission to manage and protect the family's house, garden, and trees. The family element of the Hi FPT mascot was inspired by this deity.

Characteristic

The pattern on Hi FPT mascot are made up of circles and straight lines. On one hand, it is taken from the abstract image that represents telecommunications lines.

On the other hand, circular patterns and straight lines are also popular art materials of the Dong Son period, a Vietnam's ancient civilization appeared about 4000 years ago. In this case, the circle represents the sun.

Horo

Inspired by the god “Long Quan Chua Mach”, the god of the family. Horo is a male mascot character representing a strong and witty image. The meaning of the name is the merge of the 2 images it represents. Ho is the Chinese-Vietnamese name for the fox. And "Ro" is a short word in the word dragon.

Color

Adapt from the brand color of Hi FPT, the color palette has some adjustments from solid to gradient colors to make it easier to adapt for a mascot design. Along with the brand color, a secondary color used in the design is yellow, to highlight detail in the mascot body.

Homi

Accompanying Horo is Homi, a female mascot character representing cuteness and friendliness. Like Horo, the Ho used in the name is another name for the fox. The second syllable is “Mi”, when pronounced, it can be read as “Homie”, creating a feeling of closeness.

Stationary Kit

Typically, a branding kit will come with stationary. And for Hi FPT, it is upgraded to a stationary kit, serving multiple purposes. It can be a welcome kit for new employee, or can be send to customers as a price for the campaigns run in the app.

Uniform

The mascot image is also used in the company's uniforms, including shirts and hats.

In app use

Representing a technology product, the mascot image is used widely in the app. The mascot image is included in the user interface as supporting graphic. Besides it is also one of the important features of the app that is Hi FPT virtual assistant.

Game

With the trend of gamification in product development, mascot is also the main character in the level game of the app, named “Horo & Homi.” It is a pet simulation game in which the player has the task of nurturing and making foxes happy. Some challenges in the game are to checkin every day, do fox feeding activities, play games to push development rate of the fox

Social

Is one of the places where mascot images are used most often. In addition to the common poses, the mascot image was further developed to suit the marketing team campaigns.

Real life mascot

With the differential appearance, mascot even comes to real life as a brand ambassador to promote the brand.

The mascot image has been adapted for various purposes, so I would like to credit the products from other designers that used to present this project.
